The Special Olympics is dedicated to enriching the lives of children and adults with intellectual disabilities through sports, education, and athlete health. Through its programs in communities and schools throughout the Northern California and Nevada, SO strives to: - Improve the health and well-being of athletes through fitness and sports training and targeted health services; - Increase awareness, acceptance, and inclusion of those with intellectual disabilities by others throughout the states.
