Black Women United is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education, protection, and advancement of Black women. Black Women United (BWU) was founded in 2017 by a diverse group of 5 young, passionate, and determined Black women. They wanted to address the lack of intersectionality in the Women's March and find a space to uplift and center Black women. After a month of quick planning and hard work, they created an unprecedented event: the first Black Women's March in Sacramento, California.
