African American Veterans Monument
African Americans served in all 12 of the USA's major conflicts, beginning with the Revolutionary War in 1775. Located at The Buffalo & Erie County Military & Naval Park, the monument has 12 black concrete pillars representative of those 12 wars. African American Veterans were disenfranchised, fighting for the ideals of our country since its inception despite being faced with unequal representation, disrespect and disregard for their basic civil rights. We thank all veterans for their service & sacrifice.
